RAPID RESPONSE
Take action on Gun Violence Prevention
ENOUGH!
We are returning to “normal” from the 2020 Pandemic; going back to gatherings, attending events, shopping. It is now apparent that another inescapable “normal” for America is a relentless occurrence of mass shootings.
The word ENOUGH has become synonymous with gun violence. EVERY TIME we shout “ENOUGH!” but we shout into a hurricane. We shout “BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS!” but they are not the only source of the havoc and death. We shout “ALL GUNS SHOULD BE REGISTERED!” but unregistered guns travel into regulated States to kill.
As a result of the return to this horrendous normal, President Biden took action that he had promised to do on Day One.
It’s not enough.
It’s a start.
Keep calling, emailing, posting and texting. We’ve made it easy.
For more, this opinion piece by Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence from 2012 to 2017 and co-founder of the Center for Gun Rights and Responsibility is particularly insightful: I Helped Lead the Gun Control Movement. It’s Asking the Wrong Questions.
