In the past year, we faced a lot together: a virus that caused so much suffering and highlighted inequities, a reckoning with our country’s racism and white supremacy, and uncertainty about the future of our democracy. 

Through it all, my advocacy work with East Valley Indivisibles, a community of people who work to make a difference, gave me purpose and meaning. (You can find out more about the group from our website:  https://eastvalleyindivisibles.com)

In 2020, EVI sent 14,000 letters, 500,000 texts and made hundreds of calls to help defeat Trumpism by electing progressive Democrats. We helped educate people on how to vote and get them to the polls, we registered new voters and we helped elect candidates to every level of government..

This year, we’re expanding our advocacy to include state and local elected officials and issues and look forward to once again organizing in-person symposiums on the issues that matter to us all.
